Colombo

Colombo is the administrative or commercial capital of the country. During the day it is the most busiest and crowded city in the country. The majority of the nightlife happens in Colombo. You will find the island's top nightclubs, casinos, pubs, shopping, and restaurants here. It is easy to get to Colombo from the Airport because of the highways. But traveling within Colombo is not easy because of the heavy traffic. It is best to avoid traveling to and from Colombo during normal office opening and closing hours.

In Colombo, you will find all forms of transport services. Colombo is more of an international city because of two reasons. It has influenced by the British, Portuguese, and Dutch from the time each was controlling the parts of the country. Colombo served as a port city since the 5th century or more trading with Europe, Arabs, and Asia. Sri Lanka's main port is in Colombo. Colombo is a great starting or ending point for your holiday.

The best time to travel is December to March when the air is much cooler than the normal 30°C.
