Round tour Ayurveda 10 Days / 9 Nights

Day 1: Negombo – Nuwara Eliya Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and met by “Visit SL Travels” representatives. You leave Colombo in the morning and drive along busy highways into the highlands of the island. You will see waterfalls, tea plantations, tea factories, and vegetable plantations along the way. The countryside around Nuwara Eliya rises from 3000 ft to over 8000fts., making Nuwara Eliya the highest hill country of Sri Lanka and so for many visitors is considered the most beautiful part of Sri Lanka, being home to mist-shrouded tea plantations, cool green hills, rushing waterfalls, and colonial-style buildings. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.


Day 2: Pinnawala – Kandy After breakfast, you will leave for Pinnawala. In Pinnewela you will visit the elephant orphanage, where about eighty elephants are well looked after, which have been found throughout the country abandoned by their herd and brought there. You can watch milk feeding for baby jumbos and the daily bath in the nearby river. After this you will reach, the old royal city of Kandy, beautifully nestled between green hills. In Kandy, you will visit the temple of the tooth relic, which is the holiest shrine in Sri Lanka, where the tooth relic of Lord Buddha is highly venerated. In the evening you’ll have the opportunity to see a dance performance, where you will see the famous Kandyan dances, as well as up-country and devil dances. Overnight stay in Kandy.


Day 3: Dambulla – Sigiriya After breakfast, you will leave Kandy and will proceed to the north. Along the road, you will see paddy fields, coconut groves, rubber and spice gardens, and plantations. You will stop at one of the spice gardens and there you can see a lot of spice plants, bushes, and plants cropping spices. After this visit, you will ascend for a visit to the Dambulla cave temple. This temple complex consists of five separate caverns with numerous statues of the Buddha and Hindu deities. In the afternoon do a jeep safari at Minneriya national park. This park consists of a mix of evergreen forest and scrub areas. The central feature of the park is the Minnariya tank, where you can still observe a large number of elephants who come to bathe and graze on nearby grass, as well as many more animals and vast flocks of birds. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 4: Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa After breakfast, you will visit Sigiriya rock. This impressive monolith which rises 200 meters out of the jungle has been transformed in the 5th Century by king Kashyapa into a fortress and became his capital. Here you will see the frescoes of the Sigiriya Maidens. In the afternoon you will drive to Polonnaruwa for a visit to the well-preserved remains of the city which has been the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th Century. You will see the excavations: Temples, Dagobas, the royal palace, the royal library, etc. Overnight in Sigiriya.


Day 5: Anuradhapura After breakfast, you leave for Anuradhapura to visit the ancient 1st capital of Sri Lanka. You will see some of the most famous as well as the tallest Dagoba of Sri Lanka, remains from palaces, temples, monasteries, ceremonial baths, and the temple of the holy Bo-tree. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.


Day 6, 7, 8 & 9:Ayurveda resort – Maho At the Ayurveda resort in Maho, you will have relaxing Ayurveda treatments by qualified Ayurvedic doctors and therapists for 4 days. During this period they will serve you all three vegetarian meals and herbal snacks.


Day 10: Beach – Airport After breakfast, you will leave for the airport, Negombo or Colombo.
